This policy explains what information is collected when you visit Stories Forum (the "Site"), and how it is used.

Information we collect

You do not need an account to read anything on this Site, and we do not ask you to submit personal information. We do not operate a newsletter, a comment system, or user profiles.

Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when a page is requested — such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. This is used to operate and secure the Site.

Cookies and advertising

This Site is supported by advertising. Advertising partners may place cookies or use similar technologies in your browser to measure ad performance and, where permitted, to show ads relevant to your interests.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

Analytics

We run our own analytics on our own server to understand which stories are read most. No third-party analytics service is used, no analytics cookie is set, and nothing is shared with or sold to anyone else.

For each page request we store: the page address, the referring website, the time, your IP address, the country derived from that IP address, and a general device category (for example "iPhone" or "Android"). We do not store your full browser user-agent string. Country is determined on our own server from an offline database; your IP address is not sent to any outside service for this.

These records are automatically deleted after 120 days. They are used to produce traffic statistics and to exclude our own staff's visits from those statistics. They are not used to build advertising profiles of individual readers. If you want the records associated with your IP address removed sooner, contact us at the address below.

Children

This Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Advertisements and occasional links may take you to websites we do not control. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
